JA Solar’s PV Shipments Increased over 54%

JA Solar announced PV module shipments of 15.88GW in 2020. The figure has risen from 10.26GW in 2019. This represents a 54.8 sharp rise in one year, setting new milestones for total shipments and shipment growth. Shipment estimates were nearly 1GW higher than forecasted by some research agencies. JA Solar stated that the 15.88GW total shipments included about 500MW deliveries to its in-house downstream project sector in China, despite the fact that this is not a major focus for the company. The company announced that overseas shipments accounted for 68.3 percent of total overseas shipments in 2020, with up to 10.84GW of combined international shipping. Maxeon Solar will Sell Directly to The US Market

As part of a major shift to initial manufacturing agreements, SunPower will authorize Maxeon Solar to market their Performance Series PV modules in the US market. It should be noted, however, that the agreement excluded some niche markets while allowing Maxeon Solar to sell P-Series modules to the US utility sector. SunPower also confirmed to industry professionals during its Q2 2020 quarterly teleconference in early August 2020 that Maxeon Solar will be allowed to handle marketing and deliveries to the US utility-scale sector in relation to the P-Series panels. SunPower also stated that it can sell P-Series modules to the energy sector. Even so, the goods will be shipped from abroad. SunPower's P Series shingled PV modules were initially prohibited from being sold in the US marke...

Canadian Solar Begins Mass Production of Module Lines

Canadian Solar has begun the mass production of solar modules with large wafer sizes. The power outputs of the modules can reach up to 665W, according to the company. The 210mm cells are used in the configuration of the mono facial HiKu7 and bifacial BiHiKu7. Canadian Solar stated that by the end of the year, it would have 10GW of installed capacity in the region. The first shipment of HiKu7 modules is scheduled to be delivered early next month. Even so, almost all of the manufacturer's capacity for the year has already been reserved. Canadian Solar's patented cell technology and module design have been commercialized in these products. This model features hetero-type ribbon and paving technologies, which potentially decrease the gaps within solar cells by more than 50%. In add...
