Q-Cells to show the 'most powerful thin-film module' at EU PVSEC
With what it claims as the ‘most powerful thin-film module’ with 12% module efficiency
With what it claims as the ‘most powerful thin-film module’ with 12% module efficiency, Q-Cells is pushing a new brand strategy at next week's EU PVSEC mass gathering of the PV manufacturing industry in Hamburg, Germany. Q-Cells is rebranding its Solibro subsidiary’s (SL1) CIGS (Cu(In,Ga)Se2) thin-film modules as ‘Q-Cells Modules’ as it moves the technology into volume production and wider market penetration on the back of the well-known Q-Cells name.
Thin-film fans will also be able to view its SL2 prototype, which would be expected to have even greater efficiency levels, though Q-Cells would seem to be whetting everyone's appetite by not revealing any further details.
Crystalline fans are not left out in the cold. Q-Cells said that it will also be displaying a new fully square monocrystalline 6-inch cell, the Q6LMX3, which the company claims boost module efficiency by up to 5% and comes in ‘an attractive dark homogeneous colour.’
