Over the past weekend, Inventux Technologies AG connected a photovoltaic system on the Galeries Lafayette building in “Quartier 207” to the public grid.

Berlin,

The building, designed by French architect Jean Nouvel, is also home to the system operator, the Berliner Energieagentur (BEA, an energy service company), as well as the German Solar Industry Association. The BEA draws on the approximately 16,000 kilowatt-hours of power generated annually by the system. On sunny days, the solar system provides up to 50 percent of the electricity needs of the BEA offices.

The system was designed and installed by Inventux Solutions, the company's own EPC division. Using the fiXflat flat roof mounting system, the micromorph thin-film modules were positioned facing south at a tilt angle of 10°. This way, the mounting system enabled optimal usage of the building's roof surface. Solutions manager Jörg Kienzle comments, "We are very pleased that the Berliner Energieagentur entrusted us to construct this system on such a prestigious building. This is an outstanding accomplishment for us and our partners."

Inventux Solutions, with its partners, has been designing and implementing photovoltaic systems in Germany and Europe since March 2010. Completed projects comprise dozens of large industrial systems, including the DKB football stadium in Rostock.

About Inventux:
